
BILOGORA – The green jewel of northern Croatia
Known for its gentle hills that stretch over 80 kilometers, Bilogora is an ideal mountain for exploring natural beauty and natural treasures. The highest peak, Rajčevica, reaches a height of 309 meters. This topography makes Bilogora ideal for easy hiking, cycling and horseback riding. Bilogora is covered with dense forests, primarily oak, beech and hornbeam. The forest is not only a beautiful green curtain full of ether and green leaves, but also a home for diverse plant and animal life. In the fall, the forests of Bilogora turn into a wonderful colorful mosaic, which makes this region a popular destination for nature and photography lovers.
Location and geography:
Bilogora stretches for 80 km in the northwest-southeast direction between the Drava and Sava rivers, an area known as Međurječje.
The highest peak of Bilogora is Rajčevica (Stankov vrh) with a height of 309 m, located in the Koprivnica-Križevci County.
Bilogora is known for its low but spacious mountains, with rich forests of cypress oak, hornbeam, common oak and beech on the northern slopes.

Biological diversity:
Bilogora is home to three species of linden: large-leaved, small-leaved and silver-leaved, and it represents one of the largest forest complexes in Croatia.
Due to its landscape and biological value, Bilogora is included in the NATURA 2000 network of protected areas.
A hundred years of hiking history in these areas
The combination of natural beauty and numerous recreational options makes Bilogora the perfect destination for hikes and all nature lovers. The tradition of hiking in these areas dates back a long time, but the first organized mountaineering association was founded in 1924, and since then hikers have been systematically organized through numerous initiatives and events.
