The Union of Czechs in the Republic of Croatia represents the core of the Czech community, bringing together Czech communities, schools, clubs and individuals in a non-political network that proudly preserves the rich heritage of its minority. This union works dedicatedly to preserve the Czech language, tradition and national identity in the fields of culture, education, art, science and sports.
Located in Daruvar, the Union of Czechs organizes various events that last throughout the year. Their activity has a clear goal: nurturing the Czech culture and language and preserving the unique Czech identity in Croatia.
As the crown of cultural events, the Harvest Festival or Dožínky is the biggest event for Croatian Czechs. The highlight of the festivities is the Sunday parade, where richly decorated wagons, full of grain, show the traditional process of bread production. They are followed by groups in colorful national costumes, and the whole event ends with a magnificent group dance.

In addition to Dožinky, other events that enrich the cultural life of this community are worth noting: theater performances, brass and singing festivals of children’s songs, folklore festival Vonička and the festival of children’s creativity Naše Jaro.
