One of the must-see destinations in Garešnica is the Natura 2000 Visitor Center, located in the renovated building of the former Community Center. If walls could talk, this multicultural building would have stories to tell, since it served different purposes. A cinema, a shop and even a night bar were once part of its purpose. Today, as part of the Green Gardens project of Poilovlje, the Center has become one of the main attractions of the area.
Aquarium with fish, singing birds, multimedia classrooms, exhibitions
If you visit the Center, you will first be greeted by an impressive aquarium with locally protected fish that live in the area. Then an interesting journey through fascinating natural heritage begins. By walking through the Green Gardens of Poilovlje, you will discover more than 60 protected bird species and the habitat of the European beaver and otter, and take a peek into the singing kingdom of the bird world. There are also lavish themed rooms. A conference hall with a capacity of up to 100 seats is offered for various activities, including lectures, presentations, workshops and conferences. The center is open to individual visitors and groups who can enjoy the screening of a film about Poilovlje.
Interactive entertainment, quizzes, education
The exhibition space is completed by video presentations about the importance of the Natura 2000 ecological network and significant habitats in the Poilovlje area.
Here you can view current photo exhibitions depicting flora and fauna and use interactive screens with educational information on ornithology. The Dabar multimedia classroom offers relaxation and learning about the various bird species in this area, ecology, environmental conservation, and participation in various quizzes. In the GNJURAC laboratory, you can explore plant and animal life under a microscope. When you get tired of scientific research, you can rent bicycles and explore Northern Moslavina. If you are interested in bird watching, there is a possibility to rent binoculars. For more serious ornithologists, telescope rental is also available.
