The biological pool is the main part of the Čazma Natura project. It consists of a pool that is divided into a section for non-swimmers and swimmers. The area is 1665 square meters, of which about 500 square meters are reserved for non-swimmers. The pool for non-swimmers is 1.35 m deep, and for swimmers it reaches up to 3 m in places. On the lower side of the pool there is a sunbathing area, and on the upper side there is a catering facility, first aid rooms, sanitary facilities and changing cabins and showers. Next to the pool, the so-called green classroom with educational pools was built, with plants for school in nature and similar needs, and a recreation area – volleyball court, children’s playground, terrace and sunbathing area. The technology of the biological pool enables the preparation of safe water for bathing in a natural and environmentally acceptable way, completely without chemicals, and it is the first public facility of its kind in Croatia.
At the interpretation site of Vustje, there is a path through the treetops with viewpoints and rest areas. In addition to the fishponds and the restored fisherman’s lodge, new interesting buildings made of wood and wicker were built, among which stands out the beaver dwelling that can serve as a classroom in nature, which was the primary goal of the project – education and interpretation of natural heritage.
A visit to the Medjame locality along the Česma River, where efforts were made to preserve the natural values of the area. The diversity and uniqueness of the flora and fauna of the observed area and the entire habitat of wetland birds and amphibians, as well as other animals, are presented to the visitors in an adequate, instructive and interesting manner. The 1.8 km long visitor trail leads under the treetops, through the forest and over the water. At different locations, the significance of the space is presented in an interesting way, and visitors can observe animal and plant life in a completely natural environment.
Educational and thematic trail Dolina Česme
The educational and thematic hiking trail Dolina Česme stretches from Vustje to Sišćan and it is 12.5 km long. Benches, bike racks and information boards with educational content about the nature of the area have been placed along the entire trail. The entire length of the trail is in the Nature 2000 area. Its distinctiveness is the exceptional biological diversity and richness of flora and fauna. The entire length of the trail follows the Česma River, which is a habitat for various animal species, such as crayfish, beaver, stork, heron, marsh birds, roe deer, deer, etc. It is interesting all year round for walking and recreation. It is 2.5 m wide, and there are points at key positions where visitors can stop and observe nature, plants and animals. The entire length of the trail is marked with signage and markings for the next important site, to make it easier for visitors to find their way around. Observation decks, a path in the canopy and a panoramic terrace are wooden structures that you can enter and experience the space in a special way. The panoramic terrace, i.e. the resting place in the treetops, is designed as a place of interpretation in the wooded landscape. It is made at the level of the treetops and is intended for resting and observing nature.
