The Bjelovar City Museum is dedicated to the collection, protection and preservation of works of art, historical artifacts and other valuable objects that bear witness to the rich cultural and historical heritage of Bjelovar and its surroundings. Through active research projects and documenting local history, the museum not only preserves, but also helps in understanding and valuing the cultural heritage of Bjelovar at the national level.

The vision of the Bjelovar City Museum is to become a true cultural center where the history of the city and region is brought to life through interactive exhibitions, dynamic programs and contemporary museum practices. The museum strives to offer top-quality educational content that encourages critical thinking, creativity and love for learning, with a special emphasis on the education of young people, creating an inspiring environment for all visitors.

It is open to visitors during winter working hours from Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and it closed on Sundays, Mondays and holidays. Working hours for consultation are on weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The museum offers a rich exhibition space with occasional exhibitions, among which are the Small Gallery in the basement and the Nasta Rojc and Koridor galleries on the ground floor. The permanent exhibitions include the lapidary with stone monuments (from the 1st to the 15th century) on the ground floor, as well as the permanent Gallery, Ethnological Department and Homeland War exhibits on the first floor.

The museum also has a multi-purpose hall and an atrium for concerts, theater performances and other cultural events. Professional guides for group visits are available with prior notice, and the museum has full accessibility for people with disabilities.
