Cultural Center at Ivana Mažuranića 6 in Bjelovar is the central place of cultural events in Bjelovar. Located in a beautiful Art Nouveau building, which used to be a synagogue, it offers a rich program from films and concerts to lectures and panel discussions.
Built in 1917 according to the project of the famous architect Otto Goldscheider, the building was converted into a theater after the Second World War. The dome and religious features were removed, but the Star of David was preserved, which was restored during the last renovation in 2021.
With a refreshed look, increased capacity and expanded stage, the Cultural Center can now accommodate around 400 visitors. Today it is one of the most important spaces for events such as DOKUart, BOKfest and other cultural events in the city.
