Did you know that in Daruvar, a fragrant glass of wine was enjoyed even in Roman times?
The fact that Daruvar has been known for its wines since Roman times is evidenced by a diatretic glass goblet for wine – an imperial mesh goblet, called Vas diatretum Daruvarense, which was found in 1789 in the Roman Forest. In 2008, the first wine road in Bjelovar-Bilogora County was established in Daruvar – the Daruvar wine road, which consists of six different, unique points.
The cultivation of vines in Daruvar has a centuries-old tradition and a rich past, due to the fact that the gentle and sunny slopes of Papuk provide ideal conditions for viticulture and winemaking.
