Moslavina traditional house in Gornji Miklouš

Gornji Miklous 007

The City Museum of Čazma is proud to present a traditional house in Gornji Miklouš that dates back to 1924 and perfectly evokes the life of rural and urban environments throughout history. This house, built of oak logs and covered with clay tiles (known as “čazmanec”), reflects the characteristic architecture of the Moslavina region. The covered porch provides protection from rain and sun, creating a space for family and friends to gather.

The interior of the house reveals the daily life of former housewives with a spacious wall oven, a corner bench and wooden furniture decorated with traditional motifs. The kitchen, with its bread mixer and wall shelf, is filled with various kitchen tools and utensils, providing an insight into the daily customs and traditions of food preparation. This house not only preserves memories of the past, but also emphasizes the importance of preserving cultural heritage for future generations. Visitors will experience an authentic atmosphere and feel the spirit of life in this beautiful part of Croatia.
