Music Pavilion

Paviljon Bjelovar 005

The Music Pavilion, a perfect meeting point and a great photo spot, is located in the very center of Bjelovar, on the Eugen Kvaternik Square. Built during the Second World War, it opened to the public on 8 October 1943. The well-known Bjelovar architect Zdenko Strižić is responsible for its appearance, and a feature of special interest is that it was originally built of white stone from Brač. The Brač stone has traveled the world, and it adorns the White House in Washington as well as the lobby of the UN in New York. It is the symbol of the city of Bjelovar and it is the first thing that most visitors like to see.

A part of the original stone structure has been preserved in the Bjelovar City Museum since 2015. In the same year, the pavilion was completely renovated and covered with stone whose characteristics are most reminiscent of Brač stone, which is Plano-Redi stone, from the hinterland of Trogir.

The Bjelovar Music Pavilion is a favorite and important place for celebrations and events, Advent celebrations, May Day parties, music concerts and numerous performances, and it is a special place for the people of Bjelovar because they regularly gather and socialize there during their spare time. They also like to immortalize the happiest moments of life in front of the Pavilion, such as weddings, christenings, graduations and other important occasions.
