Feeding, treating bees, spinning honey, storing honey, monitoring the hives – it’s all in safe hands, and you can come to see your bees at any time, or visit some of the many workshops to be sure of your newly acquired beekeeping experience. Children will be delighted by the beekeeper’s suit, and a true medicinal oasis awaits you in a small apitherapy house where you can breathe honey air rich in pollen particles and bee venom, which will regenerate your airways and have a positive effect on alleviating the symptoms of allergies, asthma, bronchitis and other ailments typical for life in stressful city habitats. The intoxicating scent of wax and honey will make you forget all your worries for a moment or two and along the way heal your lungs and bronchi with a view of calming pines and the beautiful surrounding landscape.
If you want to go for a walk, next to the house there is a promenade inhabited by a lovely little stream, and you can taste honey on the terrace with deckchairs. Natural materials and motifs of bees, which are used throughout the entire space, make it even more interesting, and the chandeliers made of old beehives are the most impressive. The Balja couple faithfully maintains this tradition, stressing that the bees in this unique hotel are actually the descendants of the beehives that Domagoj’s grandmother brought as a dowry at the beginning of the 20th century.
