At the address Bojana 66, seven kilometers away from Čazma, there is the Matešin Gallery and its most famous event: Colored Christmas in Bojana.
The silent celebration of Christ’s birth acquires a dimension that we have completely forgotten about – a complete opposite to the glitter, kitsch, noise and commercial representation of Christmas.
In the Bjelovar-Bilogora County, you can show your children and loved ones the true meaning of a Christmas fairy tale in a dignified way. Colored Christmas in Bojana – Traditional Christmas in the village, is a special event, the only one of its kind in Croatia that takes place without electricity, with 1000 candles. In the park of this special estate, you can also find a children’s playground, traditional Christmas lights without electricity, candles and lanterns, an open fireplace, a children's nativity scene and a candy hunt in the straw. You can also visit the permanent exhibition of art works by the artist Franjo Matešin in the northern gallery, and on the terrace itself you can view the products of the family farm Matešin. In the southern gallery, you will come across a permanent exhibition of fine art works and watch a presentation of the science fiction trilogy Lost Dreams. There is a small historical museum in the Amphitheater of the gallery.
In 2008, the gallery exhibited a permanent exhibition of art works by the academic painter Franjo Matešin. In the same year, the Amphitheater was opened behind the park. As part of the gallery and amphitheater, art exhibitions by other authors are staged, concerts and plays are organized, films are shown, various promotions, meetings and many other cultural and social events are held. In the gallery you can buy the author’s paintings, drawings, prints and souvenirs. The Matešin Gallery is open every working day with prior notice.
