The Natura 2000 Visitor Center, located in the remodeled building of the former Community Center, has become the main attraction of Garešnica thanks to the Green Gardens of Poilovlje project. At the very entrance, the center offers an impressive aquarium with local fish, as well as educational exhibitions, multimedia classrooms and space for lectures and workshops. You can explore the habitats of birds, European beaver and otter and enjoy interactive quizzes and exhibitions. You can rent kayaks and bird watching equipment. Be sure to explore the Poilovlje educational trail, which connects Garešnica and Veliko Vukovje, and passes through areas rich in diverse flora and fauna.
The project is part of the Green Gardens of Poilovlje initiative. As part of the Natura 2000 project, there is also the Kaniška Tour, which offers numerous amenities, with educational boards about birds, beavers and otters placed along the route. It is ideal for walking, cycling or bird watching, with a children’s playground and a barbecue area. All of you nostalgic types and fans of Ivo Robić songs, be sure to stop by the “Mr Morgen” Gallery, which is dedicated to Ivo Robić, the famous singer from Garešnica, where his sheet music, instruments and personal items are exhibited.
